Its a good time. Its excessive. Everything about it is done in excess. Big toothy fish eating egregiously large flies in tied ridiculous colors thrown with 10-12 wt fly rods and a variety of sinking lines heavy enough to anchor a boat. Throw in a jet boat ride through sketchy skinny water and well, there’s that. Excess everything. Its a sickness and I caught it full on.
I have been working on developing a full Musky fishing program for the past few years. My lack of free time has dragged the process out. However, now I have everything dialed in and ready to offer a full service guided day trip for Musky in the southern most habitat in middle Tennessee and Western North Carolina. Its a full service day meaning that literally all you have to do is show up. Its all included, even transportation from Atlanta and back on any day trip.
Everyone has heard the term “fish of 1000 casts”. Somedays it does feel like it but, I have found it to be more like a fish of 200-300 casts with flies. Its all about targeting the right water and not just wailing away at every piece of river that you float over. Nobody can haul an eleven weight rod and T14 line all day and I dont expect you too. We fish the Musky spots, hard. Then in between we fish for smallmouth or take a break, float and relax or I fire the engine and we motor to the next musky spot. It can be as fast or as slow paced as you want it to be but, I am going to take you to every spot on the river that I know a Musky lives in. End of discussion.
